Geographical location

Municipality in El Tarragončs, located on the left bank of the Gaiā River. The township takes up 40 Kmē of rugged land due to its location on the foothills of the Coastal Mountain Range, with peaks such as the hills of Barral, Rovira, Castellar, Portalet and Dalmau.

Two torrents drain the territory: the Torrent of Vespella and the Torrent of La Nou. Both flow into the Gaiā in the township of La Riera.

The village, at 94 metres above sea level, is located on the southern slope of a hill.

Economical activities

Our population live mostly on agriculture and poultry farming.

About a 65% of the territory is not cultivated due to the rugged orography. The most important crops are cereal, hazelnut, olive, almond and carobs. Some poultry and porcine farms complement the town's economy.

The farming co-operative was founded in 1963. Nowadays the co-operative only trades with wine, although it is also sold an exclusive selection of olive oils for associate members.

There is a clothing factory that provides work for many female workers in town.

Other people work in Tarragona and Torredembarra and drive back and forth each day.
